i'm not sure where i am now but i'm here

Here we go…

Here is what my friend wrote in the book she gave me:

“To Betty Jane

This book was left to me by my mother—Kathleen Andrews. Her mother Minnie Davis lived across the lane in Banff from Mrs. Warren as a very young child. I remember meeting her. Use this well—

Love,

Josephine Andrews Reid,

June 4, 1995”

The book is a first edition of Old Indian Trails, Incidents of Camp and Trail Life, Covering TwoYears’ Exploration through the Rocky Mountains of Canada. Copyright 1911 by Mary T.S. Schäffer

And it’s exciting reading. The later book is a special edition, a copy of the first with additional information and coloured photographs. I just re-read it, too. Wonderful stuff! It’s titled A Hunter of Peace, a name she gave herself, and it was published in 1980.

The last book I just re-read is one I am keeping because it was given to me by the author, with an inscription. It was recently self-published by Tellwell Books.

Matt just came to swim, so ‘ll have to come back to finish this later.
