Remember a few days ago I mentioned a book, Lolly Willowes, by Sylvia Townsend Warner, that I thought I had read — and I had. I found it and I just reread it. Not only that, I left a snail trail, a few underlines that I had noted in my first reading, worth checking or remembering. I took the day off today to re-read it.
More to come. Just to say it was the first book that launched the Book of the Month Club, in 1926. My copy was published in 1978, so it was a keeper. It’s not fey, it’s actually social satire.
