life goes on

I wrote a blog to this post yesterday, and lost it. That was a god self-edit, but not enough as it turned out. I bogged down in details describing my menu after I asked Matt to come for lunch and dinner. i needed to cook and eat but I don’t bother cooking for me. I had lots of groceries delivered, too many, in fact. I kept ordering all week and losing the order. (It was going to spam.) Finally, something worked and food was delivered. I couldn’ t remember what I had asked for and re-ordered—four days in a row. So I received two dozen eggs, two packages of frozen hash browns, 4 litres of milk, one package of portobello mushrooms, two packages of sliced cremini, lots of potatoes and more.

Life is full of surprises.

I made mushrooms on toast for lunch yesterday. Today I will make mushroom soup.

Later.

My wound specialist came to change my dressings yesterday and he ordered me to fasten plastic grocery bags to my legs and take a shower, and get my PSW to help. I can’t do that. Solo sponge baths are preferable to that. I’ll ask a female friend to sit in my living room while I scrub. But I have a Life Alert button around my neck. And John took out the glass shower doors and put in a new shower rail and shower curtain, plus grab bars and a slip-proof mat on the floor.

He hasn’t put me in an assisted living home yet but he’s building one around me.

I’ll cook today.

Later.I did it ! I had a shower snd I washed my hair, and it feels good.

Coffee now and cook, and talk tomorrow.
