apology

This was going to be yesterday but I ran into difficulties, with time and with myself.

I’ve been keeping a list of words to look up, not as many as used to be usual because I haven’t been reading as much, but a good-sized list. I had to go to a pile of file folders to find it and there was the difficulty. Too many file folders.

I got blogged down in them for the rest of the day.

Wonderful stuff!

I kept reading and reading, sorting, culling ( a little) and learning: things to keep, things to share (very few), things to toss. And I ended the day with nothing to give you.

So here I am, another day. Still to read and nothing to write.

I have two large profiles of Tom Stoppard to read—too big to share, I guess—-and one of Neil Gaiman; Phillip K.Dick (whom I haven’t read at all and want to); a piece about Reykjavik by Will Ferguson, which I must read but you don’t have to; a long piece about virtual reality as a health therapy; a short article about the former comedians, mates of Zelenskiy in his past career, who make up his team of closest advisers; a long cautionary read about AI and its “implications for technology and society”….These are some of what I haven’t read yet.

But I will, and they are the reasons I haven’t written you a proper blog yet.

Remember Robert Louis Stevenson: “The world is so full of a number of things/I’m sure we should all be as happy as kings.”

And so, my apologies.

Tomorrow is another day.
