I have a cleaning crew (husband and wife) once every four five or six weeks, I never know until they call me that they’re coming. I don’ t argue; I’m grateful. He lifts and moves furniture, which I can’t do. She reaches high and bends low down, which I can’t do. When I broke my wrist and couldn’t get my strength back, she helped me tuck in the fitted bottom sheet around the mattress. I’m stronger now, a little. They are very patient with me. I’m grateful.
They came today., I didn’t know they were coming until last night. I rearranged my schedule. My son Matt was going to come for a swim and lunch. Now he’s coming for a swim and dinner. That’s a good thing. I eat better when I cook for someone. I don’ feel like eating so I do’t feel like cooking for me. Tomorrow will be an interesting challenge.
I have someone coming who told me about her allergies after I invited her.
I took notes:
NO grains—i.e. no gluten, no rice or corn. I guess that includes farro, quinoa and, of course, pasta. What about chick peas, which I don’t like, and lentils, which I cook as soup?
NO dairy products—milk, cheese. etc, but cow meat is okay. Not for me—too expensive, hard on the earth’s resources. I have a vegetarian granddaughter who says she would go vegan in a minute except she likes cheese too much., and honey. Me too.
NO fish
NO seafood
My friend must eat a lot of chicken.
No mention of fruit, so I guess it’s okay.
I have to check my freezer.
I can’t shop every day and never personally. I have to rely on grocery delivery, not less than once a week. I have to plan ahead. I didn’t plan on this challenge, but I’m sure it will work out. I’ll let you know tomorrow. i’m looking forward to it.
