Icelandic words we don´t have any English for, from How to Live Icelandic.
nenna Not wanting to do something due to laziness . (That’s a word that applies to me.)
frekja A bossy demanding person.
skárra A little bit better, but still not good.
skrreppa To go out for a short while, often to run errands (although Icelanders are prone to understatement, so this could be for days).
I chose short words that might be easy to remember, but Il’ll give you a complicated one that is fun to know but unlikely to be used.
rúsinurassgat Literally ‘raisin ass’. This words is used for cute children: “Oh, look at that rúsinurassgat, isn’t he cute?” rassgatarófa, or ‘asshole turnip’, is also a term of endearment for cute children .
End of lesson.
