menu and more cooking

Dinner last night, as promised.

Nibbles: i bought smoked salmon tor Matt this Sunday but i opened it for my guest, with, you know, nice crackers or sliced bagels and cream cheese, capers and lemons to squeeze.

Main course: sautéed sea scallops on a bed of risotto with sautéed red peppers. (Pinot Grigio) Then fresh raspberries to eat like chocolates, and an ice cream bar. (I don’t bake, only bran muffins or sweet loaves). And Lindor chocolates to finish with the raspberries. Someone left a bag of Lindors on my door handle last week, with no note. I thank my nameless donor. I ate one. My friend finished them—only a dozen or fewer left from the bag.

There. That completes yesterday.

Today I will be roasting a chicken for two guests. You don’t need details for that except the practical one, that the day after I roast a chicken in a cast iron skillet in the oven, I clean the oven, all spattered with chicken fat. That’s all I’m going to say about dinner today. Leftovers tomorrow.

I have to write a grocery list. That takes longer than a blog.

Anon.
