I have to find my copy of the Mermaid and the Minotaur by Dorothy Dinnerstein.

January 27:
I haven't found it yet. It was in everyone's bibliography (women's studies, that is) at the time I was doing all my reading for my book about women's diaries (Reading Between the Lines: The Diaries of Women. Key Porter Books). If anyone had paid any attention then perhaps by now we wouldn't be in the fix we're in, with men dropping like nine-pins (NOT kingpins) from the long-overdue "Me-Too" allegations. We're all to blame, indulging the poor schmucks for their inept, brutal disregard for women's rights, dignity, feelings, physical well-being - etc.
Don't get me wrong. I like men. My husband was a man, and I loved him as well as liked him. There are some good ones out there. You just have to look and be very very careful. They have to be, too.
I'm going to find that book because I have to distill it for you. If only....
POSTSCRIPT: Why have 2 people signed on as "like" when I hadn't written this yet. Please come back and read the rest of it. And tune in when I find that book.
