and now it's another

Last night a live cabaret was held in the lobby of our apartment building. It was like Movie Night but with live performers. We were served chiips and candy and we sat at tables and enjpyed whatever refreshments we brought with us. I took ginger beer.

I re-Ilived my past life spent on Broadway hits dating back to Hair. (We saw it in London on our first trip to England. I can still remember the date of the first fLP (remember those?) we bought afterw we were marrried: Broadway Hits of 1952 and most of the songs, one, a real actors’s song, has becme a favorite lounge piece, a dramatic, touching story": “Guess Who I Saw Today”. And I always wince at the bad grammar of If Ever I Would Leave You, necessitated by the metre, I guess, but it’s a beautiful song.

So yesterday was a good day, and a reprieve frorm too much work and excitement for an old doll like me.

Today Matt and I are going to a birthday party in Hamilton. I’ll trty to report later.

“Life is a round of gaierty (sic) “, as Daisy Ashton once wrote.

Anon, anon.

worse and worse

I did too much today. Cooked all morning. Too tired now.

I made mushroom soup, clam chowder, potato salad, something else I forget, and Roderick and I cleaned the fridge. I ended up begging him to leave because I had to lie down. I had a nap but it didn’t help much. I had some soup and forgot about tonight while I watched a Netflix Christmas movie. My apartment is the site of a Christmas cabaret in the lobby, starting at 7:30. I don’t think I’ll last but I’ll attend. I phoned Sam and he’s going to come and change the dressings by 6, I hope.

I feel better but I’m going to go to bed soon. Life is rich.

Tomorrow is another day.
