what is normal?

Maybe today will be “normal”.

The groceries have arrived and I’ve put them away. The weather is getting warmer. I’m taking coffee out to the balcony for the first time this year— I hope it’s warm enough. I have a shawl—and a ship blanket that I won playing Trivial Pursuit on a cruise. I will check my invoice and read the Longo’s magazine.

I didn’t do that. I found a new NETFLIX story. I had a toasted tomato and lettuce sandwich (on sourdough bread). And a nap.

I cooked: beef bone broth, and meat loaf. We didn’t use all the ground beef when we had tacos the other night. I have a potato baking and asparagus ready to steam, and a glass of red wine. I sat out on the balcony with it and a magazine i’m getting by mistake-Cottage Life. I have a complete dinner for someone. I didn’t have the strength to serve a guest. It was good. I ate my portion.

Soon I will get back to work, start reading another file. Tomorrow?

Laundry.

No matter what, life goes on.

WONDERFUL COMMENT FROM PAT. THANK YOU!!

you're not longo's

I put in my grocery order.

That was it.

I fell asleep on the sofa , awakened by Matt who came early for a swim and lunch. I We swam and i made lunch. I fell asleep on the sofa again after Matt left and i cleaned up. Then iI took soup (leeks and potatoes) to my friend who had a stroke last week and we talked. Then I took soup (corn chowder-he can’t eat potatoes) to other neighbours who are both in trouble: hospital, pills, an army of visiting care-givers. I stayed for tea (made by the man, who says he’s learning to cook) and came home to make my dinner.

No walk, no sunshiine.

Tomorrow maybe.

By the way: HAPPY VICTORIA DAY.
