late again, all day

Yes, of course it was a lovely wedding, and the remarks, tributes and toasts to the bride and groom were lovely too—better than an obit because they were hopeful and not conclusive.

But I am tired and that will do for now.

Nap time.

The whole day may be a nap.

Later:

It was. I never achieved speed, not that I ever do, but today was sloth. I was too tired to make or drink my Sunday martini.

Finally, when Matt left, I cleaned the kitchen and loaded the dw and had a small Fractal and a small glass of red wine—still unfinished, but I am going to BED.

Read someone else’s blog.

it was just a lick yesterday

…and probably not much more today. I’m actually going to a wedding!!!

Don’t be surprised at my attendance at a wedding at my age. Be astonished at the wedding of two of my friends, both in their late seventies, getting married —for the first time!

Samuel Johnson commented on a second marriage as the triumph of hope over experience—something like that, can’t look it up right now. Well, surely a first marriage for two people is the triumph of hope.

More later, probably tomorrow. The wedding is aat 5:30, with reception and dinner to follow, so I’ll be late.

Anon.
