low ebb

Well, I managed to force myself to the pool by 8 a.m. to swim and then exercise in the hot tub. I wrote some essential emails and a couple of essential personal letters. I prepared to go and meet Matt—unconfirmed because he never calls—but the cab didn’t come.

Was it a sign?

So i came up for a nap, couldn’t sleep. I figured out what to have for dinner, sat down and thought.

What next?

Reqd the mail. That didn’t take long.

A walk? It’s a lovely day. My back and legs hurt. I’ve run out of get-up-and-go. (Old joke: '“It got up and went”)

This is old age. You have to be wary. Stop it if you can—in its tracks.

keep on keeping on, the same, only different

So goes another day. It’s going to be better. It’s not over yet.

Maybe tonight?

Well, it’s night now. I forgot I had a Zoom meeting. It’s over now and so am I.

You know what they say about tomorrow.
