striding along

I strode yesterday.  I think I strode. I was thinking about striding anyway.

stride, strode, stridden - is that right?  stridden   " I have stridden."   It doesn't sound right, does it?

ride, rode, ridden.  Yes. I have ridden. You don't hear it often but I think it's okay.

I love language. I love playing with words. I also like to learn new ones.

I have to tell you about this course I am taking, People make egregious errors.  Like: "I was talking to he and so-an-so" And apostrophes in every possessive its. I have given up on lie/lay but it still hurts.

More about the course: the homework is inexorable, with 24-hour deadlines. When I signed on I was asked if I could handle four hours a day. Sure. Buit it's more than that. It's thinking time and often research before I ever put pen to paper - no - fingers to keyboard.

Lovely, though. I woke early this morning, about 3:30 a.m., and the movie, the one I am writing, started playing in my mind, with scenes I haven't written yet and solutions to a couple of problems along the way.  I am so blessed.  I mean, what would I do if I didn't do this?

What about strive, strove, striven? strived??

Keep striving!

one more thing

This is what I forgot to remember yesterday: STRIDE!

An elderly friend told me this, something she had been told years ago.  Step out when you walk, that is, stride. Your balance will improve and you'll be less likely to fall. you see old people taking little bitty steps. Not good.

More anon.
